Applies to vehicles: with car telephone kit
With the SIM card reader you can use all the functions of the car telephone kit, independent of the mobile phone.
The car telephone kit also has a SIM card reader. A SIM card inserted in the SIM card reader can be operated via the MMI system or the handset* for the car telephone kit.
Inserting SIM card
Press the OPEN button Link. The card reader cover is opened.
Insert the SIM card (printed side facing up, contact surface facing down) into the slot of the card reader -1- Fig. 1. The cut-away corner of the SIM card should be at the front left.
Then push the SIM card into the slot until you feel it engage.
Removing SIM card
Briefly press the SIM card. The card will then eject from the slot.
Remove the SIM card.
After inserting the SIM card, the system will ask for the PIN of the SIM card in the display of the MMI or the handset* for the car telephone kit Link.
All of the telephone functions on your car telephone kit will be available without restrictions.
WARNING!
For safety reasons the card reader cover must always be closed while driving - risk of injury!
Note
If there is a SIM card in the SIM card reader and in the handset*, and a mobile phone with SIM card is connected, only the SIM card in the SIM card reader is used.
